You can enjoy various events at Yugettan.
You can experience traditional Japanese art at Yugettan. The following themes are held irregularly, focusing on painting, which is Yugettan's specialty. Please contact us.

・ Sumi-e ・ Chigiri-e ・ Oshi-e ・ Tsumami-e
・ Sumi-e shows the various shades and blurs of ink.
・ A gathering of traditional Japanese culture

・Oshi-e

One of the traditional Japanese cloth handicraft, a sketch depicting flowers, birds, people, etc. is copied on cardboard, each part is cut into small pieces, each piece is padded with cotton, wrapped in beautiful cloth, and assembled and glued onto the shikishi-board to create a 3D effect.

Would you like to make your zodiac animal?


We create carp streamers, Kabuto-helmets, etc. according to the season and request.
・Chigiri -e
Chigiri-e is a method of drawing a picture by tearing and pasting Japanese washi-paper.

Fold square cloths of various sizes to make "round knobs" and "sword knobs", and combine them to create hair ornaments, brooches, and seasonal flowers and picture designs.

* Open house

We have an open house around the wisteria festival in May every year.
In the permanent exhibition room, mainly dolls are exhibited.
The special exhibition menu is decided from the topic of that year.

English Cafe
* Moon viewing - an important autumn event of Yugettan. "Playing on the Moon" is the name of this family house that has been passed down from generation to generation from one of our ancestors, Soumei Yugettan.

Elementary school students, junior high school students, and seniors, would you like to have fun talking in English together?
Most of the classes and events are run with a participation fee (500 yen per person) and material costs.
And any donation made to the foundation to keep the house museum operating for future generations is gratefully received.
